Geoff Lyon is a highly experienced electrical engineer specializing in hardware design for autonomous systems and automotive applications. Currently serving as a Staff Electrical Engineer at Zoox since May 2022, Geoff focuses on the design and development of hardware for autonomous driving. Previously, as Lead Hardware Engineer at HERE Technologies, Geoff led the creation of low-cost data capture solutions for automotive mapping. At Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Geoff played significant roles as Principal Design Engineer and Principal Hardware Design Engineer, contributing to energy-aware edge computing and connected car research programs. Prior experience includes senior engineering positions at HP, where Geoff led projects in power architectures and RFID tracking solutions. Geoff holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electronic Engineering and VLSI Systems from the University of Hull, as well as a PhD in Electronic Engineering and Instrumentation from The University of Manchester.
