Matthew Samson

Matthew Samson is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in optical engineering and advanced hardware engineering. Currently serving as LiDAR Manager in Advanced Hardware Engineering at Zoox since July 2023, Matthew previously held multiple roles at NIO from July 2018 to July 2023, including Optical Engineering Manager and Staff Optical Engineer. Prior to NIO, Matthew worked as an Opto-Mechanical Engineer at Quartus Engineering and N2 Imaging Systems/UTC Aerospace Systems from June 2017 to June 2017 and March 2013 to June 2017, respectively. Matthew began his career in 2007 as an Office Clerk at SCENT. Matthew holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, completed between 2008 and 2013, and attended Fountain Valley High School.
