Ron Thaniel

Ron Thaniel is currently the Senior Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at Zoox, where they lead government relations and public policy operations. They have previously held significant positions, including Deputy Secretary for Transportation in the Executive Chamber of New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Director of Governmental Affairs at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration under the Biden-Harris Administration. Ron also served as Vice President of Public Policy and Legislative Affairs at the Intelligent Transportation Society of America and has experience as a policy aide in the City of Minneapolis. They are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Morgan State University and a Master of Public Administration at Hamline University.
