Taylor Clawson

Taylor Clawson is a Staff Software Engineer at Zoox, leading the development of safety-critical path planning and decision systems for autonomous vehicles since April 2020, following a prior role as a Senior Software Engineer. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Cornell University from August 2015 to April 2020, focusing on machine learning and visual perception for autonomous aerial vehicles, as well as serving as a Graduate Research Assistant with extensive work in flight dynamics and algorithm development. Earlier experience includes software development roles at Northrop Grumman, where Clawson developed Bayesian risk analysis software, and Datafest Technologies, where various data management applications were created. Clawson holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University.
