Gemma Newton

Gemma Newton is an experienced professional in operational resilience and risk management, currently serving as the Head of Operational Resilience at Zopa Bank since August 2014. Gemma has successfully owned and implemented the Operational Resilience framework, designed and delivered business continuity processes, and led risk event management initiatives. Previous roles at Zopa include Head of Operational Risk and Supplier Management, where Gemma implemented regulatory frameworks, and Senior Operational Risk Manager, focused on embedding risk culture and monitoring operational risk profiles. Gemma's career began at Lloyds Banking Group as Assistant Marketing Manager and included positions at Proximity London with progressive responsibilities in account management. Gemma holds a BA Hons in French and Spanish from the University of Cambridge.
