Mark W. has over 18 years of work experience in the computer vision and software engineering industry. Mark began their career in 2003 as a Mathematician at Sandia National Laboratories. In 2006, they became a Senior Project Manager at GRAM, Inc., where they worked on a project for Homeland Security and the EPA to develop a water quality change detection algorithm. Mark also worked on a grant with Homeland Security and Sandia National Labs to investigate mosquito's as weapon vectors and track and predict colonies and breeding grounds from satellite imagery and GIS. In 2008, they became a Sr. Software Engineer at Restoration Robotics. From 2010-2012, they were a Software Engineer/R&D at Stereo D & Deluxe (DDS). Mark then moved to zSpace 3D, where they were a Sr. Staff Software Engineer/Tracking Algorithms Architect. In 2018, they became Head of Computer Vision at Companion Labs, where they designed algorithms using depth and color video for object location and activity recognition. Mark also worked as a Software Engineer at Akruta, where they worked on video compression and computer vision. In 2019, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Neato Robotics - Perception & Algorithms. Most recently, they are a Principal Computer Vision Engineer at zSpace, Inc.

Mark W. attended Texas Tech University from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Mark then continued their education at Texas Tech University from 1998 to 2000, earning a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).
