Diego Cerna

Diego Cerna has a diverse work experience in various technology companies. Diego started their career in 2009 as an IT Internal Systems Support for ACS Expedited Solutions. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Linux Systems Administrator and Internal Support Specialist at Xerox, where they maintained and troubleshooted an Enterprise Linux Environment. From 2011 to 2015, Diego worked as a Systems Administration Consultant at Aviation Airmotive, where they were responsible for IT operations and maintaining the Call Center infrastructure. Diego then joined Xoom Corporation, a PayPal service, as a System Administrator, supporting web servers and micro-service infrastructure. In 2016, Diego transitioned to PayPal as a System Administrator III, leading projects related to new technologies and container orchestration. Diego then moved into the role of Cloud Architect at CLARK in 2019, where they migrated legacy AWS OpsWorks and ECS stacks to Kubernetes and implemented on-demand Kubernetes dynamic testing environments. Currently, Diego works at Zubale as an Engineering Tech Lead, focusing on Continuous Integration and DevSecOps.

Diego Cerna obtained a degree in Systems Engineering from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, completing their education between 2007 and 2013. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications, including the CKA: Certified Kubernetes Administrator from The Linux Foundation in April 2021, the HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate from HashiCorp in June 2020, and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in August 2016. Diego also holds certifications from Microsoft, including the MCDST: Windows XP and the MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional, obtained in January 2010. Most recently, Diego obtained the CKS: Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist certification from The Linux Foundation in January 2022.
