Scott Ellis

Scott Ellis has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering and management roles. Scott is currently employed at Zuora as the Director of Engineering - Platform Security since November 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager at Zuora. Before joining Zuora, Scott worked as a Software Engineer at Groupon, where they designed and developed back-end Java applications and front-end components. Scott also has experience working at Rio Tinto as a Senior Advisor - Equipment Coding, where they designed and developed software for automated blast hole drill rigs. Additionally, Scott has worked at Caterpillar Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer and Programmer, Miranda IM as a Plugin Developer, Dynamic Automation Systems (DAS) as a Software Engineer, and AETAS Pty Ltd (Australia) as a Director & Developer. Overall, Scott has a diverse background in software engineering and management roles, with a focus on developing innovative solutions and managing software projects.

Scott Ellis attended La Trobe University from 1995 to 2004, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science. Their coursework included computer science, philosophy, and psychology.

In 2012, Scott Ellis completed a course in Machine Learning through Coursera. The following year, they also obtained certifications in Cryptography I and Digital Signal Processing through Coursera. In 2014, they completed courses in Computing for Data Analysis, Discrete Inference and Learning in Artificial Vision, Malicious Software and its Underground Economy: Two Sides to Every Story, and Practical Machine Learning, all through Coursera.

In 2013, they completed a course in Startup Engineering through Coursera, and in 2019, they obtained a certification in Project Management Foundations through LinkedIn.

Most recently, in 2023, Scott Ellis obtained a Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence from La Trobe University.
