Emma MacFarlane

Emma Macfarlane is a seasoned professional in intellectual property with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and legal sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Director of Intellectual Property at Zymeworks Inc. since July 2015, Emma has previously held roles such as Director and Lead Patent Agent, building a robust foundation in patent strategy and management. Prior to Zymeworks, Emma worked as a Manager of Intellectual Property at The Centre for Drug Research and Development and as a Patent Agent at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP and MBM Intellectual Property Law. Emma's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Exeter and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biological Chemistry from Ulster University.
