Jonathan Piegari

Jonathan Piegari has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Jonathan currently serves as the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations at Zymeworks Inc., where they oversee and manages CMO organizations for clinical supply manufacturing. Jonathan also leads the technical transfer and manufacturing operations team for the company's first commercial product.

Prior to their current role, Jonathan worked at Gilead Sciences as the Director of External Quality, where they supported outsourced biologic contract manufacturing organizations and ensured compliance with cGMP Quality activities. Jonathan also conducted annual external GMP audits for CMOs.

Before Gilead Sciences, Jonathan held the position of Senior Director of External Manufacturing at Elusys Therapeutics, where they built strong relationships with Contract Manufacturers and supervised development, validation, and manufacturing campaigns. Jonathan also analyzed deviation investigations and proposed appropriate CAPAs.

Jonathan also has experience at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals as the Director of Bioprocess Engineering and Contract Manufacturing, where they directed program teams and managed a new bulk drug substance manufacturer. Jonathan established budgets, awarded business, and established master service agreements with CMO sites.

At Bristol-Myers Squibb, Jonathan worked as the Senior Manager of Manufacturing and Contract Manufacturing, where they established and supervised the manufacturing team and directed product lifecycle activities. Jonathan also established technical relationships with CMO organizations.

Prior to Bristol-Myers Squibb, Jonathan worked at Dendreon as the Manager of Contract Manufacturing, where they oversaw manufacturing activities and represented Dendreon for commercial production activities at CMO sites. Jonathan also led efforts for process scale-up and transfer.

Jonathan began their career at Amgen, where they served as a Senior Engineer in Tech Transfer and later as a Specialist.

Jonathan Piegari holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Penn State University. Jonathan also completed a Master of Science in Biotechnology Management from the University of Maryland.
