Zymochem
Thom Mand is currently a Technical Program Manager and Scientist at ZymoChem since October 2020. Previously, Thom held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from October 2018 to October 2020, focusing on optimizing the growth characteristics of non-model microorganisms for industrial applications. Thom completed a PhD in Microbiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where research centered on hydrogen metabolism in Methanogenic archaea. Earlier experience includes working as a Combustion Technician at RMT from June 2007 to March 2009, contributing to emissions reduction and efficiency improvements in coal-burning power plants. Thom holds a Master of Science in Bacteriology and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
