After Macri steps away from the e-commerce marketplace, the marketing team will be led by the current VP of Marketing, Bob Sherwin, who will assume the role of Chief Marketing Officer and now report to Chief Merchandising Officer Steve Oblak. As part of this restructuring, the marketing team will join other go-to-market functions as part of Oblak’s Commercial organization.
Over the past decade and a half, Macri has been an integral part of Wayfair’s success and has helped propel the Boston-based company from a startup to an e-commerce behemoth that generated over $14 billion in revenue last year.
Macri initially joined Wayfair in 2007 as the Director of Business Intelligence and has served in a variety of escalating roles. Over his career with Wayfair, he has helped build the company’s marketing organization, including a differentiated and proprietary advertising technology stack, strong industry partnerships, and a highly talented team.
In a statement, Wayfair Co-Founder and CEO Niraj Shah said, “We are incredibly well positioned thanks to Ed’s many contributions and his long term succession plan, and we know he shares our enthusiasm about the progress the marketing team will continue to make under Bob’s leadership. We are grateful for his time at Wayfair, and wish Ed the very best as he looks forward to more time spent on family and personal endeavors.”
