Accenture names Domingo Mirón as CEO of financial services

Accenture has announced that Domingo Mirón will succeed Richard Lumb as group chief executive of financial services effective September 1, 2019. Mirón currently serves as the group's chief operating officer where he is responsible for executing the business strategy and driving operational excellence. Richard Lumb will retire from the company on August 31, 2019.

Accenture has announced that Domingo Mirón will succeed Richard Lumb as group chief executive of financial services effective September 1, 2019. Mirón currently serves as the group's chief operating officer where he is responsible for executing the business strategy and driving operational excellence. Richard Lumb will retire from the company on August 31, 2019.

“I am delighted that Domingo is stepping up to lead our Financial Services operating group,” said David Rowland, interim chief executive officer. “During his 30 years with our company, Domingo has distinguished himself as a proven leader. He brings to this role deep knowledge of both our business and the global financial services marketplace, along with a track record of exceptional client service."

Domingo has spent most of his career working with clients in the banking and insurance industries. Prior to assuming his current role, he led Accenture's Financial Services business in Spain, Portugal and Israel, helping clients adapt to changing regulations, the new digital ecosystem and an evolving customer profile. He was senior managing director—Growth & Strategy on Accenture's global Financial Services leadership team from 2011 to 2014. From 2009 to 2011, he led Accenture's Banking business in Europe, Africa and Latin America. He has also served as the client account lead for Banco Santander since 2008.
