Boston-based software development app provider Appfire, has named Jagdish Chugani to its executive team as its new Chief People Officer. Reporting to CEO Randall Ward, Chugani will lead the company’s global HR organization, including talent management, culture and engagement.

In a press release, Ward praised Chugani’s “impressive leadership acumen” and “expertise in transforming culture and employee performance” and said that the new executive will play an essential role as the company continues to scale.

As the company’s people head, he will help develop and execute strategies to grow revenue, strengthen internal infrastructure, and increase enterprise value by developing and delivering human capital strategies, talent management best practices, and operational efficiency.

“My first priority at Appfire will be leveraging and building on the great successes the company has experienced to date, understanding what we have to accomplish from a business strategy point of view and then ensuring we have the organizational structure and people resources we need to achieve that in a diverse and inclusive manner,” Jagdish stated. “My goal is to accelerate Appfire’s growth globally, and to understand how to best allocate and maximize the potential of the talent and leadership resources we already have, augmenting those wherever necessary.”

Chugani joined Appfire just four months after it announced a $100 million investment from growth private equity firm TA Associates. Prior to Appfire he served as the SVP of Talent at PlanSource and served as a member of the Human Capital at UnitedHealth Group.

In the months since the investment from TA Associates, Appfire has continued its rapid pace of acquisitions as it seeks to stay at the forefront of the Atlassian ecosystem. The company has scooped up a slew of companies and technology including Mohami, SoftwarePlant, Spartez Software, the 46 app product portfolio of Anova Apps, and 13 products from software development company Lizard Brain.
