Cisco has named Anthony Grieco as its new Chief Information Security Officer, according to a report by Insider. Grieco replaces Mike Hanley, who has accepted a new position outside the tech giant.
A 20-year company veteran, Grieco most recently served as an engineer and Trust Strategy Officer. In this role, Grieco was responsible for ensuring Cisco and its customers embed security, trust, data protection and privacy into future strategies, solutions, and business models. He was a central figure leading the company's security business, which included developing and marketing cybersecurity products.
A Cisco spokesperson told Insider, “He is a trusted security advisor to industry, customers and startups worldwide.”
Grieco’s position as the top cybersecurity exec at Cisco will place him in the spotlight as companies increasingly think about security amid the shift to more permanent work-from-home policies exposing new cybervulnerabilities.
