Cybersecurity Company Secureworks Gets a New Chief Marketing Officer

Secureworks, a cybersecurity company owned by Dell, announced Monday that Tracey Mustacchio will be its next Chief Marketing Officer. She will report directly to incoming CEO Wendy Thomas.

Mustacchio will lead Secureworks’ global growth and marketing strategies as the company combines its background in security expertise with a new security analytics and operations platform that aims to help organizations detect, investigate and respond to advanced threats more quickly and effectively.

With a background in marketing, information management, cybersecurity and data analytics, Mustacchio has led transformation and growth strategies for McAfee, Nuance. She previously worked as the CMO and SVP at Vivisimo, a computer search engine company that was acquired by IBM in 2009. At IBM, she continued to work as Director of Product Marketing for Big Data and eventually became VP of Worldwide Marketing, Information Management.

She most recently worked as Interim Chief Marketing Officer for Carbonite, leading through its acquisition with information management solutions company OpenText.

Earlier this month, the Atlanta-based cybersecurity vendor also promoted Wendy Thomas, a longtime executive to replace Michael Cote as president and CEO in September 2021.

Thomas is credited with driving Secureworks’ acquisition of Verisign’s Managed Security Services business and most recently led the company’s customer success organization, which includes product and engineering, operations, customer experience and threat intelligence.
