Eventbrite has bolstered its leadership team by creating two new c-suite positions, Chief Communications Officer and Chief Customer Officer, which both report directly to Co-Founder and CEO Julia Hartz.
The role as customer chief has been filled by Phil Silverstone, who is being promoted from SVP of Sales and Services. In his new post, Silverstone will lead the company’s efforts to connect customers to events and services offered through its self-service ticketing and experience technology platform.
Gina Stikes is Eventbrite’s new top communications executive and will be tasked with overseeing the company’s internal and external communications teams. She most recently served as the Head of Public Relations & Corporate Communications at the now-defunct short-form video streaming service Quibi and also brings experience from senior roles at YouTube, BET Networks, and NBC.
The duo will be key in helping Eventbrite meet the needs of its customers as they increasingly begin to re-attend live events. In Q2 2021 the company reported that paid ticket volume increased 57% from Q1 2021. It also recorded $46.3 million in revenue, a more than five-fold jump from Q2 2020, driven by a record number of events hosted on the company’s platform in the quarter.
In the company’s hiring announcement, Hartz said “Our refocused strategy and business model resilience will fuel us to move fast and cover more ground. The leadership additions we continue to make signal our strong commitment and position within the industry to lead the growth of live experiences.”
