Ex-Amazon Exec Saty Bahadur Appointed as CTO of Upwork

Upwork, a platform that connects freelancers to businesses, has hired seasoned cloud, mobile and AI executive, Saty Bahadur as its CTO.

Prior to joining Upwork, Bahadur was the General Manager of Alexa AI at Amazon, where he served for four years. Prior to that he spent ten years working at Microsoft where he most recently held the position of Director of Engineering. Bahadur has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science and a master’s degree in computer science from Clemson University.

“Saty’s technical prowess, experience across platforms and established track record of building industry-leading engineering teams will accelerate Upwork’s delivery of technology and experiences for customers that change the way work gets done,” Hayden Brown, Upwork’s President and CEO said in a statement.

In his new role at Upwork, Bahadur will oversee the company’s growing engineering team.
