LA-based designer Melody Ehsani, who has collaborated with former First Lady Michelle Obama, Lauryn Hill, and Wu-Tang Clan, will now serve as Foot Locker’s first-ever Creative Director for its women's business.
In this newly created role, Ehsani will be charged with designing quarterly apparel capsule collections, with the first capsule collection dropping online and in stores in the summer of 2021. She will also curate an on-going selection of Nike and Jordan products for the retailer.
This won’t be her first work with Foot Locker as, she was tasked with designing an exclusive collection for Foot Locker's "12 Days of Greatness" holiday campaign in December 2020.
"Melody Ehsani brings authenticity and years of creative leadership to the industry," said Foot Locker VP and DMM Women's Footwear and Apparel Patricia Respress said in a press release. "Her diverse background of streetwear knowledge will help elevate our brand and expand our product offering, while driving real cultural impact within our women's community."
Prior to joining Foot Locker, Ehsani founded the streetwear brand ME., which specializes in jewelry, footwear, and clothing.
"Growing up, Foot Locker stores were a staple of my cultural landscape,” Ehsani stated. “I am truly honored to become the first Creative Director for Foot Locker's women's business and for the opportunity to help shape and build upon the impact of their brand on a global scale. I look forward to bringing my set of experiences to the table - not just as a designer, but as a longtime customer."
