FOX Corporation has selected its first Chief Growth Officer, Steve Chung, as the company eyes opportunities in new digital spaces. Chung reports to the company’s CTO and President of Digital Paul Cheesbrough.
Chung’s new role, first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, will place him in charge of identifying and developing new digital business opportunities across existing and emerging growth categories. "Steve's business acumen, digital expertise and industry experience make him the ideal person to identify emerging new opportunities and enhance our current initiatives,” Cheesbrough said.
Prior to being elevated to his new role, Chung had been the Chief Digital Officer for Fox Television Stations. Before joining the Fox family, he served as CEO of a SaaS firm, called Frankly, and spent time at Goldman Sachs and BRV Ventures.
FOX has been busy expanding its presence outside its traditional media focus as it launched online sports betting service FOX Bet in September 2019 and entered the fintech industry by acquiring Credible Labs in August 2019. The company has also made inroads in the streaming industry by scooping up ad-supported streaming service Tubi in March 2020.
