Mindfulness and meditation app Headspace has appointed Jolawn Victor, a former executive at Intuit Quickbooks, to the newly created role of Chief International Officer.
Reporting to CeCe Morken, Headspace's President and Chief Operating Officer (and also Intel alumni), Victor will oversee Headspace’s international operations and expansion.
Victor most recently served as the Head of Emerging Markets and Global Expansion at Intuit Quickbooks, where she led operations across over 150 countries. Previously, she held senior roles at PepsiCo.
"I am thrilled to join Headspace and to be able to help increase the awareness of mental health and wellness in existing and emerging markets. Especially today, when a variety of pressing challenges undoubtedly impact our ability to feel safe and live healthy lives in nearly every country around the world," commented Victor.
2020 has been a big year for Headspace. Since the Coronavirus Pandemic took hold in March, downloads of Headspace's consumer product have doubled. The company says interest in its corporate mental health product, Headspace for Work, has increased by 500%, with over 1,100 companies already enrolled, including Tesco, Hewlett Packard Enterprises, and Publicis.
Last month, Headspace added superstar singer John Legend to its executive bench, as Chief Music Officer.
After dominating the mental health tech scene in the US, the Santa Monica based startup has its eye on continued expansion into Europe, as one of its fastest-growing regions. Headspace launched localized products in France and Germany in 2019, as well as Spanish and Portuguese versions of the app.
