Hulu’s Jim Denney to be Chief Product Officer at Peacock

Veteran product manager and former Hulu exec Jim Denney is joining NBCUniversal's streaming service, Peacock, to lead its global product strategy vision.

NBCUniversal said Tuesday that former Hulu exec Jim Denney will join the company as EVP and Chief Product Officer, Direct-to-Consumer for its streaming service, Peacock. He will report to President of Director-to-Consumer Gidon Katz.

Denney will be responsible for Peacock’s global product strategy, which includes all aspects of product development and user experience. He will also be responsible for the product vision and strategy for other customer-facing NBCUniversal digital platforms, like NBC Sports and the reality-television service, hayu.

Previously, Denney ran product organization as VP of Product Management at Hulu. In that role, he oversaw long-term product strategy for the subscription and live-streaming services and included a complete redesign of Hulu’s UX. He also oversaw several teams across the brand including experience and engagement, device partnerships and integrations, customer journey and commerce, and advanced engineering and infrastructure.

Before Hulu, Denney spent over 15 years at TiVo leading product management and strategy, leading the launch on the DVR and the ability to download content on mobile devices. His work on industry-changing products at TiVo got him an Emmy award for “Outstanding Achievement in Enhanced Television” in 2006.
