Indeed Secures Diversity Leader as Its New People Chief

Indeed announced that Priscilla Koranteng will join as its new Chief People Officer, effective immediately.

She will report to CEO Chris Hyams and lead the global hiring platform’s people functions, including its HR, recruiting and real estate teams.

Koranteng, a board member at the Racial Justice Institute, brings more than 22 years of HR, talent management and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) experience at multinational organizations. Most recently, she was the Global Head of Talent and Chief Diversity Officer in charge of cereal giant Kellogg’s talent and HR unit. She also brings experience from DXC Technology, T. Rowe Price, Booz Allen Hamilton and JPMorgan Chase.

“We are delighted to welcome Priscilla to join us in our mission to help people get jobs. Indeed is a people-centered business, and as Chief People Officer, Priscilla will be a key driver in helping our team grow and innovate to better serve job seekers and employers all over the world,” Hyams said in the company’s press release.

Koranteng will be key to helping the Austin, Texas-based company traverse the changing dynamics of today’s job market as Indeed looks to recruit additional tech talent. Koranteng’s DEI background will also be imperative to help Indeed continue to diversify its leadership which, as of November 2021, was male-dominated (66%) and overwhelmingly identified as White (67%), followed by Asian (25%). Black or African American executives represented just 1.8% of Indeed’s leadership.

In Indeed’s hiring announcement, Koranteng highlighted Indeed’s commitment to inclusion and diversity. She went on to say, “I can’t wait to dive in with my team to continue building our People function for our high-growth, global business, and serve as a model for innovation in our industry.”
