LendingHome, a lender to real estate investors, has brought on two new executives to fill its top marketing and finance positions.

LendingHome has also named real estate veteran Roberta Sydney as an Independent Director.

The company's two new executives, Cherie Yu and Bruce Schuman, have joined the company remotely and will serve as its new Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively. The duo bring a wealth of tech industry experience that CEO Michael Bourque believes will help the company maintain its rapid growth.

Yu is in charge of the lender’s marketing team and brings experience from her time leading Lyft’s local marketing team and Google, where she oversaw marketing for AdSense, Display, Ad Management, and Shopping.

Schuman joins LendingHome from Intel’s venture capital arm and will lead all of its finance functions, including FP&A, Accounting, and Treasury. During his 25 years at Intel he led finance organizations for several business units within the company, including Supply Chain, Corporate Strategy, and the Data Center Products Group.

In a statement, Bourque highlighted the new execs’ first hand knowledge of the disruptive impacts that tech, data, and imaginative thinking can have on legacy industries. He went on to say “They learned it at Intel and Google or from spending decades in real estate creating value. This kind of knowledge and ability is essential for LendingHome, which relies on leveraging artificial intelligence and massive amounts of data to help real estate investors unlock value in aged homes.”

LendingHome has issued $7.8 billion in loans to date and has funded over 35,000 projects. The company also leverages a proprietary machine learning and predictive-analytics tool to help investors avoid overextending themselves.
