North Carolina-based home-improvement company Lowe’s Companies has announced that Marisa F. Thalberg will take over as executive VP, chief brand and marketing officer, effective February 10.

Thalberg joins the company most recently from Taco Bell where she was as global chief brand officer. In this role she led the transformation of the company to become a culture-centric lifestyle brand, leading to record-breaking sales growth and category share gains.

Thalberg, in this expanded role, will report to Marvin Ellison, Lowe's president and CEO.

"Marisa is a world-class marketer and leader, and we are thrilled to have her join the Lowe's leadership team," said Ellison. We are confident Marisa will lead our brand into an exciting new chapter for our customers and associates."
