Nextdoor Hires Former Houzz Exec as New Head of International

Nextdoor announced Monday that Jose Gaztelu will step into the role of Head of International as the neighborhood community app attempts to expand its global presence.

Gaztelu has nearly ten years of experience building and scaling consumer tech platforms both in the U.S. and abroad. He most recently worked as Chief Commercial Officer at Domestika, where he was helping to accelerate the global learning community’s international expansion efforts.

Before that, Gaztelu spent over four years at London-based home design platform Houzz, most recently as Managing Director of E-Commerce and Private Label. In that role, he helped build out those two brands first in the U.S. market and then in Spain.

Gaztelu first became acquainted with the startup world while working at the fashion retailer Global Fashion Group, where he joined as CEO for Zalora Thailand and later worked as Managing Director of Zalora Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. He also spent five years working for the consulting firm McKinsey & Co.
