Identity and access management company Okta has appointed Samantha Fisher as its new Head of Dynamic Work, according to Business Insider. At Okta she will be a part of the company’s workplace services team headed by SVP of Global Workplace Services Armen Vartanian.

The hire is part of Okta’s 2-year plan to transition to become a remote-first company through its Dynamic Work model, which allows employees to be located anywhere but still have access to the same benefits of an office worker. In her new role, Fisher will rethink the San Francisco-based company’s employment policies, office design, tech, and the ways its employees collaborate.

“We're really considering how we support employees working cross-functionally in whichever way works the best for them, in a way that they can deliver the best products and services to our clients and our customers," Fisher said in conversation with Business Insider.

Nearly all of its new job openings are remote eligible and, so far, 60% of its new hires are not located near any existing offices, a number will only grow as the company expects 85% of its workforce to eventually be remote, compared to 30% before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before taking on the challenge of reimanging the way an entire company operates, Fisher worked in executive real estate at Transwestern, Citadel, and Capital One, helping refine operations to improve the workforce efficiency.

Fisher said she was drawn to Okta’s philosophy and the idea that “dynamic work is going to be built on a foundation of equity for all parts and pieces of how people engage with or experience the ‘workplace in this dynamic workplace."
