Mike Ford has been elevated from SVP of Systems Engineering and Software Development to serve as Sony Pictures Imageworks’ new chief technologist.
In his new position as CTO, Ford will report to EVP Michelle Grady and continue to manage the software development and systems engineering teams.
“Mike is a dedicated leader to the software development and systems engineering teams,” Grady commented. “He embraces a forward looking, strategic approach to our technology that allows our talented artists to put inspired images on screen.”
Ford is an accomplished executive in the animation business and is a member of the Short Films and Animation Branch of Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences. He has worked on several major films including Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Oscar-nominated Surf’s Up.
