The Walt Disney Company and Craig Hunegs, the President of Entertainment for Walt Disney Television, have decided to part ways and the end of the month.
Hunegs hasn’t revealed what his next move may be and Disney said it would name his replacement in the coming months.
The decision was reportedly made by Hunegs, who has been with the entertainment titan for the past two years. His job had changed significantly since day one, as a massive restructuring shifted his duties.
In a memo obtained by Variety, Walt Disney Television Chairman of Entertainment Dana Walden stated, “With the reorganization at our company, his responsibilities have changed and his new role is no longer the one he joined The Walt Disney Company to pursue.”
Hunegs was first hired as the President of Disney Television Studios’ where he oversaw all studio operation. He continued in that role until December 2020, when Disney pushed him to oversee 20th Animation and a new unscripted production unit, in addition to business affairs, production, casting, and inclusion as part of a wider reshuffle.
Prior to joining Disney in March 2019 he was the founding President of Warner Bros. Digital Networks and led the rapid build-out of Warner Bros. Entertainment's OTT services.
