Ann Hebert, Vice President and General Manager of Nike North America, has resigned after reports revealed that her 19-year-old son, Joe Hebert, had been using a credit card in her name to purchase sneakers for his resale company, West Coast Streetwear. Her resignation is effective immediately.
Although Joe Hebert told Bloomberg that his mother had never revealed any insider information to him whilst she was working at Nike, the Bloomberg article had sparked outrage online. A Nike spokesperson noted to Bloomberg that Ann had previously disclosed information about her son’s business to her employer and that there was “no violation of company policy.”
Starting as a sales representative in 1995, Ann Hebert has been with Nike for more than 25 years and held various positions across the company.
“Ann Hebert, VP/GM, North America geography has decided to step down from Nike, effectively immediately,” an internal email reads. “We thank Ann for her more than 25 years with Nike and wish her well.”
