Zapata Computing has revealed that Jeff Huber will join its Board of Directors, bringing extensive experience in building and scaling global applications.
Huber is a former SVP at Google and was the Founding CEO of cancer screening company GRAIL, which has raised $2 billion to detect cancer early in the blood using genetic sequencing and data science. While at Google, he helped develop and scale its Ads, Apps and Maps applications. He also notably helped lead the formation of the Google X lab.
His experience will help the enterprise software company accelerate the development of its quantum-enabled platform and AI applications in various fields.
CEO Christopher Savoie commented on Huber’s background and stated. “The applications he helped develop and scale were game-changers that are now used by billions of people every day. With his support, we will expand what’s possible with our own quantum software platform, Orquestra, and its applications. Together, we’ll tackle some of the toughest challenges in Industry, using the latest quantum-classical methods and infrastructure.”
Huber will join another recent addition to the startup’s board, former Sparta Systems CEO Dana Jones, who was appointed last month. Zapata Computing is building on a strong 2020 in which it raised $38 million in a Series B funding round.
