Taran Catania currently serves as Chief of Staff and Recruitment Manager at 1% for the Planet since February 2022. Previous experience includes the role of Director of Operations at Brown Ledge Camp & Brown Ledge Foundation from 2020 to 2021, and serving as Natural Resources Staff for Senator Martin Heinrich in the United States Senate from 2018 to 2019. Taran worked as a Legislative Representative at the National Wildlife Federation from 2015 to 2018 and as a Policy and Communications Associate at the American Bird Conservancy from 2013 to 2015. Taran holds a Master of Business Administration in Sustainable Innovation from the University of Vermont Grossman School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Environmental Studies from Wesleyan University, along with a study abroad experience in Wildlife Conservation and Political Ecology in Tanzania from the School for International Training.
