Dr. Charles B. (Bud) Owen has a long and impressive work experience, beginning in 2001 with TeamHealth, where they held various roles such as ED Staff Physician at the Heart Hospital of Austin, and ED Medical Director at the same hospital. In 2009, they joined Schumacher Group as an Emergency Department Staff at St Elizabeth Hospital. In 2011, they became an Emergency Department Staff at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, and in 2012 they co-founded and became CMIO of Afoundria, a company that provides technology support for post-acute care and care transitions. In 2016, they joined Schumacher Clinical Partners as an ED Staff Physician at Big Bend Regional Medical Center. In 2019, they became Chief Clinical Informatics Officer and Medical Director and CMO of Sonder Hospice & Palliative Care, and also co-founded and became Chief Clinical Informatics Officer of 1 True Health, Inc. In 2020, they joined 1 True Health Care Management as Chief Medical Officer and became a Member/Investor of Southwest Angel Network.

Dr. Charles B. (Bud) Owen has a comprehensive educational background. Dr. Charles B. (Bud) attended Tascosa High School from 1970 to 1973, followed by The University of Texas at Arlington where they earned a BS in Biology and Biochemistry in 1976. Dr. Charles B. (Bud) then went on to The University of Texas Medical Branch and obtained an MD in 1980. In 1988, they completed an Executive MBA from Rice University. Dr. Charles B. (Bud) also obtained a Teaching Certificate from The University of Texas at Austin in 2009. Additionally, Dr. Owen has obtained three certifications: SharePoint Online Essential Training: The Basics from LinkedIn in 2022, Board Certified in Clinical Informatics from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) in 2015, and Board Certified in Emergency Medicine from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in 1988.
