Ian Proulx

Co-Founder & CEO at 1047 Games

Ian Proulx is the co-founder and CEO of 1047 Games, an independent video game company. Ian is also the designer and implementer of the company's first video game, Splitgate. Splitgate is a multiplayer, first-person shooter game that is set in a sci-fi environment. It is developed in Unreal Engine 4.

Proulx started their career as a game technologies software engineering intern at Apple. There, they developed new physics simulation technology for SpriteKit and SceneKit to add realism for game developers. Ian then spent four months as a basketball coach at Pinewood School before returning to Apple as a game technologies software engineering intern. At Apple, they identified a product need and implemented a fully functional gaming technology for developers using SpriteKit.

After Apple, Proulx spent four years as a video game tester at VGMarket. There, they pre-release usability tested video games for Xbox, PS3, iPhone, and PC. Ian then analyzed the design, user interface and usability of the games and provided feedback for game improvement.

Proulx then interned at Draper University for three months before founding 1047 Games.

Ian Proulx has a Master's Degree from Stanford University in Computer Science with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction. Ian also has a Bachelor's Degree from Stanford University in Computer Science with a concentration in Graphics. Ian is also admitted to the MBA program at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. Ian has also completed a course in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from Draper University.
