Andrew Heiberg

Andrew Heiberg is an accomplished computational biologist currently serving as a Senior Computational Biologist at 10x Genomics since November 2020. Previously, Andrew held various positions at Illumina from July 2013 to November 2020, advancing from Associate Bioinformatics Scientist to Senior Bioinformatics Scientist. Early experience includes work as a student at UC San Diego, where Andrew designed a database of genetic variants from exome sequencing and modified JBrowse for genetic sequence queries. Andrew also worked as a Programmer at Prosearch Strategies from November 2009 to November 2010. Andrew earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Information Science, Systems, and Technology from Cornell University.
