Brett Schweers

Brett Schweers, Ph.D., is a seasoned professional in the field of patent law and biotechnology, currently serving as a Senior Patent Agent at 10x Genomics since April 2024. Previously, Brett held similar positions at Haynes and Boone, LLP, McDermott Will & Emery, and Neal Gerber and Eisenberg, accumulating extensive experience in patent prosecution and strategy. Prior to transitioning into patent law, Brett contributed to scientific research as a Senior Research & Development Scientist at Independent Forensics and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Brett earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Houston.
