Annette Hughes has a diverse range of work experience in the publishing industry. Annette started their career at Little, Brown and Company in 1987, where they held various roles including Business Manager, Promotions Manager, Inventory Manager, and Sales Representative, until 1999. Annette then moved on to HarperCollins Publishers, where they worked from 2000 to 2008. At HarperCollins, they served as a National Account Manager, Director of Sales for Children's books, and Director of Sales for National Accounts. Annette'sresponsibilities included managing accounts such as Borders, Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, and Amazon, as well as overseeing back-list promotions, marketing, and analysis. From 2008 to 2017, they worked at Scholastic as a National Account Director, where they managed various sales channels, analyzed sales and market share, and set goals and strategies for maximizing sales. In 2017, they briefly worked as an Independent Consultant at The Children's Book Council before joining Midpoint Trade Books as Director of National Accounts. Most recently, they have been working as the National Sales Director at 1517 Media since 2019.
Annette Hughes holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from Lake Forest College. Annette has also obtained the OneDrive for Business Essential Training certification from LinkedIn in 2019.
