Antonio Vizcaya Abdo

Antonio Vizcaya Abdo has a diverse range of work experience. Antonio began their career as a Law Clerk at Salinas Linares Abogados, where they provided advice and litigation support for civil, commercial, and administrative matters. Antonio also drafted and negotiated commercial contracts and assisted clients with social security issues.

After that, Antonio worked as a Senior Law Clerk and Junior Associate at Sánchez DeVanny Eseverri, S.C., specializing in tax and tax-labor advice. Antonio developed strategies for conflict prevention and provided legal defense against administrative and judicial authorities.

Antonio then joined Federacion Mexicana de Futbol Asociación A.C., where they served as the CSR Committee and General Secretariat Manager. In this role, they monitored task forces and departments, ensured compliance with national and international regulations, and conducted regulatory benchmark and analysis.

Antonio's passion for sustainability led him to work as a Strategy Consultant for SDSN México, where they focused on sustainable development goals and fundraising strategies. Antonio provided consultancy services to organizations to revitalize and grow their sustainable fundraising programs.

Antonio also served as a GSIC Ambassador for GSIC powered by Microsoft, promoting sustainability initiatives and driving awareness of the organization's mission.

Currently, Antonio is a Professor in Sustainability at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Antonio teaches a course that examines the role of companies in society and their ability to accelerate sustainable development.

Most recently, Antonio joined 17 Sport as part of the Strategy & Partnerships team. Their responsibilities include providing strategic advisory support for sports sponsorship and activation strategies, knowledge sharing within the organization, research project management, and drafting informative documents.

Antonio Vizcaya Abdo has a diverse education history focused on sustainability and law. From 2013 to 2018, they attended Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree. In 2019, they pursued a Postgraduate Certification in Constitutional Law and Human Rights from the same university.

In 2020, Antonio completed a Diploma Program in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from Tecnológico de Monterrey. The following year, in 2021, they pursued a MasterTrack program in Sustainability and Development from the University of Michigan. Antonio also obtained several additional certifications during this time. Antonio completed the Sustainable Business Strategy course from Harvard Business School Online in May 2020 and the Design for Sustainability course from LinkedIn in April 2020.

In 2021, Antonio obtained certifications in Enterprise Design Thinking from IBM in May and the FIFA Global Integrity Programme from FIFA in September. Additionally, they were part of the IOC Young Leaders Programme organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in February 2021. Antonio also has experience as a Venue Coordinator & Match Coordinator, having obtained certification from CONCACAF in January 2020.

Antonio's educational pursuits continued in 2023 when they enrolled in the Professional Leadership Program in Sustainability at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This program, focused on Sustainability Studies, is expected to be completed in 2024.
