Berit Kirkaune has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Berit started their career as a Kundeveileder at Telenor Teleservice AS in 1986, and later transitioned to the role of Storkundeansvarlig in the markedsavdelingen at Sandvika teleområde. Berit then returned to Telenor Teleservice AS as a Kundeveileder before becoming a Konsulent.

In 2003, Berit joined Opplysningen AS as a Datakvalitetsovervåker, where they played a key role in GUI-application requirements and also led testing efforts for developments and improvements in the data model and value chain.
