Christian is a Professor in Clinical Bacteriology at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden where he leads a research group focusing on antimicrobial resistance and the use of molecular biology as a diagnostic tool in clinical microbiology. Giske is also a consulting physician at the Swedish Center of Disease Control (Folkhälsomyndigheten, Solna, Sweden) and chairman of EUCAST (European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing) and NordicAST (Nordic Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing).
