Tanmay Saksena is currently the COO at 1mg. Prior to that, they were the Global Business Head for Online Food Ordering at Zomato from January 2015 to March 2016. During their time there, they set up and grew the online food ordering business for Zomato from scratch globally across India, UAE, and the Philippines. The business quickly became the market leader in India by value and a close second by order volume within 8 months with a 30% month-on-month sustained growth rate. The online food ordering business contributed to 5% of overall revenue of Zomato by Jan 2016 with an increasingly growing share. Saksena grew the team from 5 to 500+ across 14 cities in India and 4 cities internationally. Tanmay established partnerships with international food chains like Domino’s, Pizza Hut, KFC, Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s, Wendy’s etc to bring them onto the Zomato platform. Tanmay also established strategic partnerships with two logistics companies in India including an equity investment in one to expand the market by bringing in restaurants that don’t do their own delivery. “Zomato fulfilled” orders now contribute 10% to the overall mix of online order volumes and are growing. In Manila, they made a strategic acquisition of Quick Delivery, one of the largest food ordering companies, to kick-off online ordering business in the Philippines. Tanmay also established a strategic partnership with Room Service Delivery (RSD) in the UAE to bring high value restaurants not present on Zomato online ordering platform along with delivery logistics. For online food ordering in India, they implemented multiple product based strategic partnerships.

Tanmay Saksena has an MBA from Stanford University and a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

They work with Gaurav Agarwal - Co-Founder & CTO, Vikas Chauhan - Co-Founder. Tanmay Saksena reports to Prashant Tandon, Co-Founder & CEO.
