Donald Rucker is the current Chief Strategy Officer at 1upHealth. Prior to this, they were the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) from April 2017 to January 2021. In this role, they worked on implementing population health management, EMR systems and quality measure improvement. Donald also provided clinical leadership for 140 physicians and 240 nurse practitioners in a national network of worksite clinics throughout the US. This included clinician education, risk management, occupational medicine and patient-centered medical homes. Donald also helped in the design and implementation of the enterprise data warehouse.
From September 2015 to April 2017, Donald Rucker was the Chief Medical Officer and Consultant at Premise Health. In this role, they worked on implementing population health management, EMR systems and quality measure improvement. Donald also provided clinical leadership for 140 physicians and 240 nurse practitioners in a national network of worksite clinics throughout the US. Donald Rucker is also an adjunct Professor of Emergency Medicine at Ohio State University.
Donald Rucker started their educational career at Harvard University, where they studied chemistry and earned their AB degree. Donald then attended Stanford University for both their MS in medical computer science and informatics and their MBA in business. Finally, they went to the University of Pennsylvania for their MD in medicine. Donald also has various certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
