Michael W. Wellman

Michael W. Wellman is the CEO and Founder of Virgil Security, Inc., leading the creation of innovative cryptographic solutions for software developers since May 2014. Wellman is also a Venture Partner at NextGen Venture Partners and leads the Open Angels Syndicate for Bloomberg Beta, fostering relationships with angel investors. As an investor and advisor, Wellman actively supports several cybersecurity startups, including RunSafe Security Inc. and Shevirah, Inc. Additionally, Wellman serves on the board of the Pope County Library System Foundation and mentors at SparkLabs Cyber+Blockchain and MACH37 Cyber Accelerator. Wellman holds multiple degrees from Rice University, encompassing Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, and Computer Science, and has pursued further studies in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at various institutions.
