Doris Colson is an experienced ESOL Adult Literacy Educator currently working at SUNY Farmingdale's Long Island Equal Opportunity Center since April 2023. With over three years of experience in English as a Second Language instruction, Doris has held various roles, including ESL Instructor at Middle Country Public Library and Mastic-Moriches Library. Doris is also a board member of Literacy Suffolk, Inc., and has contributed as a volunteer Adult Literacy Tutor. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Adult Learning and Education from Empire State University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration/Public Policy and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Accounting. Doris is committed to providing inclusive literacy programs that enhance opportunities for non-native English speakers.
