Anwar Zakkour

Anwar Zakkour is a senior advisor at 25madison. Anwar was previously the global head of TMT investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from January 2013 to December 2018. Anwar has been a member of Investment Banking Group-Head Committee and Co-Chairman of Summer Associate Program.

Zakkour has led one of the largest groups by revenues and headcount within BAML’s investment bank as an integrated practice to better serve technology, traditional and digital media and telecom companies around the world. Managing relationships with the highest profile TMT clients across the globe, they delivered all of BAML’s best-in-class capabilities across the full spectrum of investment banking services including M&A, Equity and Debt Capital Markets.

During their time at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Zakkour transformed the group from a mainly-debt financing platform to a world-class full-service bank. Anwar personally led many high-profile M&A, IPO and debt financing transactions, including the sale of The Clippers to Steve Ballmer, the sale of Time Inc to Meredith, the Match IPO and the acquisition of King Digital by Activision. Anwar also attracted top talent to build teams in sectors where needed and moved people around globally to optimize the team and their careers.

Anwar Zakkour started their educational career at the ESCP Business School in Paris before moving on to Oxford University in Berlin. After completing their studies at Oxford, they enrolled at the Copenhagen Business School. Finally, they attended medical school at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen.
