Anand Saxena

Anand Saxena currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Executive Officer at 280 Earth since September 2025. Prior to this, Anand held multiple engineering roles at X, the moonshot factory from January 2019 to September 2025, advancing from Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer to Senior Mechanical Engineer. Anand's experience also includes a tenure at Google as a Mechanical Engineer, alongside a position as Senior Mechanical Engineer at Makani, which focuses on developing innovative wind energy technologies. Educationally, Anand earned a PhD and an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a B.Tech in the same field from Punjab Engineering College. Throughout an academic career, significant contributions included serving as a postdoctoral research associate and teaching assistant at the University of Maryland.
