Brian McCandless is an experienced instructional designer and educational consultant with a strong background in online education and faculty training. Currently serving as Lead Instructional Designer at 2U since June 2017, McCandless has successfully led the redevelopment of onboarding programs, achieving significant reductions in onboarding time while enhancing program relevance. Previous roles at 2U included Instructional Consultant III and Senior Manager for Training Operations & E-Learning, where McCandless facilitated extensive training sessions and managed teams of instructional designers. Additional experience includes owning Plum Point Productions, producing real estate media, and serving as a part-time video editor for a YouTube channel. McCandless holds a Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies from Syracuse University.
