Cindy Ballenger is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching and teacher preparation. Currently serving as a teacher since September 2020, Cindy teaches K-12 students with various learning styles and also works as an online course developer and professor in the Fundamentals of Teaching Reading at 2U. Additionally, Cindy has been a mentor and consultant at Teachers College, Columbia University, supporting NYC teachers since January 2014. Cindy's previous roles include Director of the Teacher Preparation Program at Tufts University, and literacy and reading specialist positions at Cambridge Public Schools. With a strong research foundation as a Senior Scientist at TERC, Cindy has led initiatives funded by notable educational grants. Cindy holds a degree in Applied Linguistics from Boston University, focusing on language acquisition and Creole languages.
