Gurkaran (Karan) Chowdhry has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Gurkaran (Karan) is currently serving as the Director of Operations and Business Development at 3DBioFibR Inc., where they are responsible for developing partnership-based business strategies, raising investments, and creating technical goals. Prior to this, they worked as a Research and Development Intern at Alentic Microscience Inc., where they utilized their background in physics to develop diagnostic applications for their technology.
Chowdhry also has experience in academia, having worked as a Research Assistant in the Dalnoki-Veress Lab at McMaster University's Department of Physics and Astronomy. Gurkaran (Karan) also served as a Teaching Assistant and a Summer Research Assistant in the same department.
Outside of academia, Chowdhry has held positions as the MSU Maroons Coordinator at McMaster Students Union, as well as a Sport Supervisor in McMaster Athletics and Recreation - Intramurals. Gurkaran (Karan) gained experience as a Student Clerk at the Canada Border Services Agency and as a Park Service Attendant at Cedar Fair Entertainment Company.
Throughout their work experience, Chowdhry has demonstrated their expertise in scientific communication and their ability to work independently on complex projects.
Gurkaran (Karan) Chowdhry completed their Bachelor's degree in Honours Physics at McMaster University from 2014 to 2018. After that, they pursued a Master's degree in Biophysics and Polymer physics at Dalhousie University from 2018 to 2020. In addition to their academic studies, they also obtained the Standard First Aid Level C certification from the Canadian Red Cross in October 2015.
