Martin Howlid has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Martin started their career in the Norwegian Armed Forces, serving as a Sergeant in the Border Patrol in 1986-1987. After this, they completed an internship at Schlumberger in 1991. Martin then joined Kværner Engineering as a Project Engineer from 1992-1994.
Martin then transitioned to Schlumberger Vector Cables, where they held the roles of Project Engineer for Towing and Handling systems from 1994-1997, and Project Manager for Seismic Tow Cables from 1997-1999. Martin then moved to Schlumberger Geco Defence as a Project Manager for the AGATE marine minesweeping system in 1999-2000.
From there, Martin took on various roles at Schlumberger, including Project Manager for developing a new control system for marine seismic sources from 2000-2002, Department Manager for development of seabed seismic acquisition systems from 2002-2006, Department Manager for development of marine geophysical electromagnetic acquisition systems from 2006-2007, and Hardware Metier/Technical Advisor for reliability, mechanical, and electronic systems from 2011-2013. Martin also served as Project Manager for Seismic towing systems, Advisor for Marine Engineering Manager, and Mechanical Metier during their time at Schlumberger.
Martin then joined ALTUS Intervention as a Project Manager for New Tractor Conveyance and Well Manipulation Systems from 2016-2019. Martin later worked at Zacco - 360° Intellectual Property as an Advisor for Research, development, and financing from 2020-2022. After that, they co-founded iDROP and served as the CTO and Co-Founder from May 2022 to November 2022. Currently, Martin is working at 3D perception as a Project Manager, starting in January 2023.
Martin Howlid obtained a MSc degree in Marine Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) between the years 1987 and 1991. Prior to that, they completed Staff Sergeant Training in Army Communications at the Norwegian Army in 1985. In May 2021, Martin Howlid obtained a certification in Elements of AI from the University of Helsinki og Reaktor.
